This is Not the All-New 2013 Maserati Quattroporte

Regular readers will know that you can't ever be too careful with allegedly official photos of unrevealed cars floating around the internet. The examples are too many to list.

Earlier today, the guys over at GT Spirit tipped us off on these photos of the 2013 Maserati Quattroporte with the note that they were the first official pictures of the Italian firm's upcoming sedan model.

However, as it turns out, it's not the new Maserati Quattroporte but the Maserati...Quattroroute as the images are actually renderings from the November 2011 issue of the Italian car magazine Quattroroute, scans of which were posted over at Autoblog.nl. Marchionne: Maserati will Launch Three New Models Very Soon, Doesn’t Rule Out Alfa Sale if the Price is Right

The Fiat Group may have its share of problems, especially in Europe, yet CEO Sergio Marchionne recently announced that its second most prestigious brand, Maserati, will soon launch no less than three new models.

“Maserati will increase its volumes by having three cars”, said Marchionne after the CBI conference in London last week. According to British publication Car Magazine, Marchionne said that these would be the Kubang SUV, the Quattroporte replacement and a smaller four-door sedanthat will compete in the E-segment against the likes of the Jaguar XF and BMW 5-Series.

Italian Ministry Orders 19 Maserati Quattroporte Limos Amidst Severe EU Economic Crisis

Unless you’ve been living in a cave these past few months and were completely cut-off from the outside world, you’ll surely have heard of the European economic crisis that started with the Greek debt and is now threatening to engulf many more European countries.
